Praise for "Wild Horses"

Liv Constantine, internationally best selling author of THE LAST MRS. PARRISH

A story of courage in the face of betrayal and loss, WILD HORSES is a moving testament to the resilience of the human heart. Woven throughout this tense drama, like a tranquil refrain, is the powerful ability of animals to soothe and heal that heart. A lyrical and captivating read.

Paul Austin Ardoin, USA TODAY Bestselling Author of "The Reluctant Coroner"series and more

RUSSELL RICARD, author of "The Truth About Goodbye"

A lovely and thought-provoking read... ("Wild Horses") explores self-empowerment through the navigation of lost and found parts of the soul. Particularly moving is the overarching theme of how animals provide comfort and healing.

Pendino's lyrical, character-driven prose, her vivid, small town settings and layering of secrets are well supported by an exhilarating build of dramatic action. If you enjoy Anne Tyler's novels, you'll appreciate Pendino's storytelling.

Amy Pendino brings to life characters who matter to us as they take and lose chances, flee or stay, and dare to love despite the consequences. This is a deeply-satisfying, character-driven novel. It contains mystery, suspense and a long-held secret that, once revealed, offers hope and reconciliation to those who most deserve it.

We love how "The Witness Tree" pairs strong, resilient women with unsolved mysteries... Lush descriptions of the rural landscapes and the characters' inner natures will capture the reader's thoughts and emotions.

CHRISTINE HUSOM, author of the Winnebago County Mysteries and the Snow Globe Shop Mysteries

In this accomplished debut novel, Amy Pendino portrays two independent women born decades apart--strangers whose lives are bound together by a curse set in motion when a tree in rural Iowa bears silent witness to an unspeakable act. Over six decades pass before the curse finally exacts its retribution on this farming community, which is depicted with all of its small-mindedness and big-heartedness...  The characters display a depth of honesty and a deep understanding of the human condition...  "The Witness Tree" is a page-turner that is insightful, compelling and wonderfully well-written.

From the first paragraph I was captured by Amy Pendino's eloquent and descriptive writing style. The story follows two women, generations apart, who are compelled to leave their old lives behind for new adventures...  Two thumbs up for Pendino's "The Witness Tree".

From its opening pages, "The Witness Tree" absorbs the reader in a gratifying tale of friendship, love and betrayal, uncovering long-buried truths and characters learning to be brave in a world with its own designs on their destiny.

Additional Information

I hope you’ll enjoy "Wild Horses" as much as I do. Dani has some huge decisions and a lot of challenges ahead–regardless of her choices, things are about to change for her. Big time.

If you prefer the EBOOK format, accessibility should be immediate and available on all platforms.

You can either use my link https://books2read.com/u/b6zBJM

OR Kindle  https://tinyurl.com/4w5cbsxv

OR Nook  https://tinyurl.com/3h6u482s .

When you order PAPERBACK books from me directly through my website link, you won’t get your paperback for about 10 days (and you pay $4.20 for shipping,) but I get a way better return than I do with the Big A. As an independent publisher, I am competing against the Big A: they can send your PAPERBACK book the next day, but they retain most of your payment.

This is the benefit: self-publishing means I’ll be able to get more books into my readers’ hands more quickly, in the future. You won't necessarily receive the book sooner than 10 days, but I’ll be able to move ahead and launch each new book right away–shooting for one new book per year–by eliminating the broker and the wholesaler backlog.

So, totally up to you, but I wanted to let you know what to expect if you choose to support the indie platform instead of going through the Big A.

Thank you for considering indie-published reading!

I’m curious to know how this will all turn out! And so excited! It’s been a huge learning process to go this route; hopefully everything will work as designed. Fingers crossed! Please let me know at readamypendino@gmail.com how the process works for you! Yay and THANKS!
